A Performance Brand Built on Proven Engineering

Carbon Fibre. Built to Get You Ahead.

Tribol Braking is a UK-based performance braking company founded by engineers, materials specialists, and drivers with a shared frustration: braking technology hasn’t kept pace with the rest of the performance world.

While engines, tyres, and suspension have evolved rapidly, brake pads have remained largely unchanged – still relying on heavy, heat-conductive steel backplates.

Tribol exists to change that.

Engineers First. Drivers Always.

Tribol Braking began with a materials breakthrough, not a marketing concept.

We are the team behind the world’s first carbon fibre composite brake shims, now used in demanding automotive applications where weight, heat control, and reliability matter.

That early success proved something important: advanced composites can outperform steel in real braking environments.

Building on that foundation, we spent the last five years applying the same thinking – methodically, cautiously, and with obsessive testing – to brake pads themselves.

The Tribol approach

We re-engineered the material, not the marketing.

We use advanced resin systems derived from ablative re-entry heat shields – materials designed to survive extreme thermal loads.

With our own patented material innovations, we’ve developed a composite with a glass transition temperature high enough to maintain stiffness even when disc temperatures exceed 850°C. That means:

  • No softening under load
  • No loss of pedal feel
  • No brake fluid boil
  • No performance drop-off when braking at the limit

All without the cost or complexity of carbon-ceramic systems.

World first. Limited run.

The first fully composite automotive brake pad. Ever.

After five years working with leading academics, pad manufacturers, professional drivers, and performance OEMs, Tribol Braking is launching the world’s first fully composite brake pad.

For our inaugural release, we’ve selected three key pad shapes common across the track and enthusiast scene. Key features:

  • ColdForge carbon fibre composite backplate
  • Up to 70% lighter than steel
  • Patented mechanical retention system
  • Reduced heat transfer to the caliper
  • Track-proven friction compound
  • Designed, built and shipped from Devon, UK
  • Limited first-edition production

Proven Under Real Track Conditions.

We don’t build parts to pass minimum tests – we build them to survive abuse.

Tribol Braking has spent five years testing:

  • On dynamometers
  • On track
  • With professional drivers
  • Against performance OEM standards

Our track-focused testing simulates repeated heavy braking at disc temperatures exceeding 600°C, revealing how pads behave when it really matters. The result:

  • Immediate cold bite
  • Stable friction
  • No pad lift
  • No fade

Exactly what you want when you’re chasing time.
